What if God is doing something much bigger than what we can see? In Genesis 46–49, a family enters Egypt as outsiders and is welcomed with the best the land has to offer. Yet while Egypt is being brought to its knees by famine, Israel is multiplying and growing strong. What looks like a story about immigration, survival, and family is revealing something much bigger—the unfolding purposes of God. As Jacob blesses Pharaoh, his grandchildren, and ultimately his sons, we begin to see covenant promises taking shape and a prophetic picture of what is still to come. From a family settling in a foreign land to the Lion of Judah who would one day come, these chapters remind us that God is always at work, even when we can only see the next step.
