Hi, I’m Kim Arendt, the Assistant Children’s Minister at West Portal Church. I began this role in August 2017 after serving in various areas of Children’s Ministry both at West Portal and in other locations since I was 12 years old. Being a role model and encouraging children in their faith has always been a passion of mine, and it gives me great joy to serve God in this way, using my gifts to build up the Body of Christ. My goal is to help create a safe and engaging environment for the families in our church, working alongside great staff and volunteers who share the same passion. My family and I live on an acreage west of Saskatoon where we enjoy the beauty of God’s creation right out our back door. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing games, learning together (I have home-schooled in the past and currently supervise the online learning of my boys) and growing in our faith together. Some of my hobbies include baking, cooking, colouring and dogs (we have 5 of them!).
I look ahead in confidence, knowing that God’s plan to grow His kingdom can and will be accomplished through the hands of His people, as we transform within so that we can be an effective light for Jesus in our homes, neighbourhoods and broader community.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)
